CITY OF BONITA SPRINGS AND BONITA BEACH

Bonita Springs was known as a tiny fishermen and farmers village between Naples and Ft. Myers. The dramatic change started when the exclusive Bonita Bay Community was founded. Other golf communities like, Pelican Landing, Highland Woods, The Brooks and others followed.

Bonita Springs, located in Lee County, just north of Naples, emerged from a small hamlet to a town with more than 20,000 people - and is still growing. In 1999 Bonita Springs incorporated to City of Bonita Springs. These days you find upscale shopping centers - like the Promenade - with fine shops and excellent restaurants. Business people and tourists don't have to drive to Naples or Ft. Myers to get a good nights sleep; Bonita Springs has now several accommodations from low budget motels to first class hotels, like The Trianon and the new Hyatt, which is still under construction. You can also find several luxury beach house rentals.

Bonita Beach, just north of Barefoot Beach is located on Little Hickory Island, tucked between the sandy shores of the Gulf of Mexico and the quiet beauty of Estero Bay. Once a community with small cottages, this waterfront paradise is changing to an upscale location with elaborate luxury beach houses direct on the beach with wide views as far as Sanibel Island.
